World Cup: Germany -1 (-125) over Australia
Big impost here with a basically shorthanded favorite but … Germany is one of those teams and one of the few Euros that always seems to just come up money in tournament action. In 2006, KlinsmannĀ guided a young inexperienced club to a third place finish on their home turf. That foundation, sans oldies Ballack and Klose, and new fresh legs on the back line should get the Fatherland easily through matches like these. The Germans blasted Costa Rica 4-2 in their 2006 opener and face a defensively challenged SoccerRoo outfit here. This Aussie crew is game as always but nowhere near as good as the group that almost took down theĀ Italians in 2006. Germany 3-1.
